Ijin – J5214 Slim Fit Red Line Leg
Published on March 24th, 2010

THE DETAILS
Size: 34 Length of Wear: 30 months How Many Washes: 2

This item was first soaked & rinsed after 10 months.
However, the indigo was fixed using white wine vinegar & the ”white”was enhanced by rubbing the worn areas with rock salt.Next to no detergent was used & the jeans were hung to drip dry & bake on a hot Italian terrace.First wash was 2 years later, soaked first then long machine wash. The indigo remains beautifully & naturally blue ( not blue black through lack of laundering) & the wear zones get whiter. Ijin terms this worn-from-dry procedure ”Seasoning”.Mending the crotch was my own dextrous needlework using a blind stitched wedge of self cloth , in this case 14 ounce Kurabo with the selvedge showing nicely. Strangely the patch has never unstitched whilst the cloth around it has since consumed.Worth the wait….
