Bought these rigid. first wash was after 8 months of wear, 5-6 days a week. i tried to go a full year but i got impatient and wanted to see the results of the first wash. About 4 months later I spilled xylene all over them by accident. Xylene, which is similar to turpentine, is very potent and i had to wash them immediately to get the chemical smell out. but that was the last time i washed them, and i think the xylene actually gave them some added distress. I still wear these on the regular and wouldn’t trade them for anything.

This is a custom pair of I+W’s, and they are absolutely perfect.
No washes yet, though the time might be near. They are almost shiny with how dirty they are, and can stand up without me in them. Car repairs and long bike rides in 100+ degree heat might do that to a pair of jeans.
I will say, though, that they are holding up well. I still manage to wear them as a dress jean, and receive compliments on them almost every time I’m out. The fading continues to be encouraging; if and when I rinse/soak them I can only expect that the honeycombing will be something very special.
My only complaint (which is entirely on my own behalf) is that the comfort is beginning to be compromised, as they are stiffening with how filthy they have become. I feel like they are stiffer now than they were when I first got them. I also had to reattach a belt loop, but I chalk that up more to my abusive relationship to denim, rather than the craftsmanship/quality.

First year of wear was fairly light but use has picked up over the last half year. I did the first wash in the ocean at around one year of wear and another rinse about three months after that. Also- these are my first pair of raws
